Have I Achieved My 2015 Goals?

At the start of the year I wrote a blog about 30 things that I wanted to achieve in 2015. Now that the year is coming to an end I’m going to have a look at how I got on.

  1. Eat healthier.
  2. Try and massively cut down on my intake of fizzy juice.
  3. Get a six pack.
  4. Go snorkelling.
  5. Scuba dive in a coral reef.
  6. Skydive.
  7. Ride on the back on an elephant.
  8. Get an unconditional/a realistic conditional into 3rd year at Glasgow or Caledonian University.
  9. Swim in a crystal clear ocean.
  10. Go to the Holi festival in Glasgow.
  11. Go to the Full Moon Party in Koh Pha Ngan.
  12. Be in a TV audience.
  13. Get published.
  14. Raise money for charity.
  15. Get a traditional bamboo tattoo.
  16. Swim with a sea turtle.
  17. See the northern lights.
  18. Be a movie extra.
  19. Climb a mountain.
  20. Go to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
  21. Go on a cruise in Ha Long Bay.
  22. Get over my fear of the dentist.
  23. Eat an unusual animal to western culture.
  24. Join a football team.
  25. Learn a new language.
  26. Go paint balling.
  27. Get an A in graded unit.
  28. Finally learn how to drive.
  29. Go in a hot air balloon.
  30. Zip line through a jungle.

I have only achieved 13/30 so far, which isn’t bad considering the list, but it’s definitely something I want to improve upon. Some were out of my control e.g. “21. Go on a cruise in Ha Long Bay” as they were all cancelled when we were in the nearby area. Others, such as learning to drive, will get carried into next year due to my lack of motivation because it’s more practical for me getting trains. The conditional to 3rd year Media and Communication at Caledonian University should more or less be guaranteed but that is just a waiting game.

Were my goals unrealistic or did I just not push myself hard enough to achieve more? A bit of both I think.
